Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 12, 2026. This policy explains the general types of information Chessflaw collects and how we use it to operate the product.

Information We Collect

We collect account information such as your name, email address, profile image, authentication provider, and basic session data. We also collect chess usernames, imported PGNs, game metadata, analysis reports, puzzle progress, and settings you save in Chessflaw.

Chess Game Data

When you add Chess.com or Lichess usernames, we may fetch public game history from those platforms. This can include PGNs, ratings, time controls, results, colors, opponents, timestamps, and derived analysis such as mistakes, motifs, and positional summaries.

Payments

Payments are processed through Razorpay. We do not store full card details. We may store subscription status, payment identifiers, plan information, billing status, and payment-related timestamps to manage access to paid features.

How We Use Information

We use your information to provide analysis, build your dashboard, generate mistake puzzles, track progress, manage subscriptions, improve the product, prevent abuse, debug issues, and respond to support requests.

AI Features

Some features may send game data, PGNs, and related context to AI model providers to generate summaries or coaching responses. We try to send only the information needed for the feature.

Analytics and Notifications

We may use analytics and notification tools to understand product usage, measure marketing performance, and notify our team about events such as signups or payments. These tools may process limited event and device information.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share information with service providers that help operate Chessflaw, including hosting, database, authentication, payment, analytics, chess data, and AI infrastructure providers.

Data Retention

We keep account, subscription, and analysis data while your account is active or as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and maintain security.

Your Choices

You can contact us to request account deletion, support with subscription access, or questions about your data. Some information may remain where retention is required for security, billing, backups, or legal reasons.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data. No online service is perfectly secure, so you should use a strong password and keep your login methods safe.

Children

Chessflaw is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and remove it where appropriate.
